There is a gap in all versions of Windows that enables a computervirus to spread rapidly. Microsoft acknowledged this vulnerabilityand also encourage users to immediately patch.
The gap lies in the features of Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), which allows hackers to run malicious programs nosy without being noticed by the owner of the computer.
According to Microsoft, which is written directly through his officialblog, a gap is found in almost all versions of Windows, includingWindows 8 Consumer Preview which has recently thrown to the user.
“We have not received reports from the loopholes of this attack, butseen from the susceptibility we expect the program to exploit in the next 30 days,” wrote Microsoft, which is quoted on Thursday(3/15/2012).
RDP feature is not active by default on Windows, but usually this feature is often enabled by the IT team in a company.
To reduce the impact of the risk of such loopholes Microsoft highlyrecommends to be patched with MS12-020 patch can be downloaded here.
